Reasonably new laptop, decent spec, screen fucked, not covered by insurance.
Worth replacing screen? Is it possible?

find your laptops model number, go on ebay, type in the laptops make and number and 'screen' and bobs your uncle.

Easy peasy to replace, must have done at least 20 of them in the past, the cost is generally around the 80 to 90 quid for a 15" LED screen from Ebay or any other screen seller and around the same price for the older LCD screens but with them, they also have a voltage inverter that can go wrong as well but they are about 20 quids worth

toad how much does it cost to replace a screen? i think the machine is samsung with 1tb of memory about 2 years old hardly used

I'm in a similar dilemna with a cheapo toshiba that I dropped when I was pissed. I dunno if a new screen is needed, intermittently black lines appear down the screen it seems more like a loose connection. But I know that of I take it in the shop the weirdy beardy cunt will tell me I need a new screen etc

Usually pretty easy to be fair. Most panels are sold on ebay quite cheap. Take a few screws out, unplug a ribbon connector.
